Birth certificates contain information that must be translated accurately.
A minor error in a person's name, date of birth, place of birth or parental information can create an inconsistency between documents.
This is particularly important when your Russian birth certificate is being submitted together with:
- A Russian passport
- A UK visa application
- A British passport application
- Marriage or divorce documents
- Children's documents
- Parents' documents
- Educational certificates
- Other civil-status documents
Names are especially important. Russian names written in Cyrillic need to be represented consistently in English. If you already use a particular English spelling of your name in your passport or other official documents, you should provide this information to the translator.
